Overview
NexaFinance is a local-first personal finance app. It is built to work entirely on your device with no account, no backend server, and no cloud sync. This policy explains what the app does with your information and, just as importantly, what it does not do.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. NexaFinance does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or bank credentials, and it does not contain analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.
Everything you enter — accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, bills, savings goals, debts, and preferences — is stored in a database on your device and never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Data stored on your device
The app stores only the financial information you choose to enter:
- Account names, types, opening balances, and currency
- Transactions (income, expenses, and transfers) and optional receipt attachments
- Categories, budgets, bills, recurring payments, savings goals, and debts
- App preferences such as theme, language, and notification settings
If you enable the optional app lock, the app stores a one-way (salted SHA-256) hash of your four-digit PIN. The PIN itself is never stored.
Notifications
Bill reminders, budget warnings, and savings-goal reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data leaves your device. You can enable or disable each type of notification at any time in Settings.
Permissions
NexaFinance requests only the Notifications permission (on Android and iOS) so it can display reminders you have chosen to enable. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photos. Receipt attachments are selected using your device's document picker.
Exporting and backups
Your data leaves your device only if you choose to export it:
- CSV export — plain-text transaction data.
- JSON export — a plain-text, full snapshot of your data.
- Encrypted backup (.nfb) — protected with AES-GCM using a password you provide.
CSV and JSON files are not encrypted — store them securely. For encrypted backups, you are responsible for remembering the password; it cannot be recovered.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, because we never receive it. There are no third-party SDKs that collect information in NexaFinance.
Deleting your data
You can erase all financial data at any time from Settings → Clear all financial data within the app, or by uninstalling the app. Files you have previously exported are stored by you and are not affected by clearing or uninstalling.
Children's privacy
NexaFinance is a general-audience app that does not collect personal information from any user, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this location with a new effective date.
